Chasing the birds in the plaza in Santa Fe

On the bridge high over the Rio Grande in northern New Mexico. Look at all those rocks that need to be thrown into that water

Who'd have thought there would be snow waiting for me?

(note that it was not very cold and I did not need a jacket or a hat)
Here I am scaling the cliff dwellings and exploring the caves at Bandelier National Monument.

Here we are at the top of the mesa at Tent Rocks near Santa Fe, NM. It was 1.5 miles in with a 600 foot climb up the mesa.

The soft rock has been eroded, leaving the harder rock perched on top of pinnacles.

The water has created a slot canyon.

Climbing is hot and thirsty work.

A view down from the mesa to some of the tent rocks. The slot canyon trail was at the base of those pinnacles.
